Products: Specialty vegetables in season, such as baby French filet beans, baby squash, Mexican sour gherkins cucumbers and heirloom tomatoes. Handspun angora yarn, angora/sheep wool blended yarns, angora fiber, finished items made from the yarns, such as hats, scarves, baby booties and scrunchies. Novelty fiber products: rabbit foot key chains, quilted angora cards, felt balls, rabbit tail cat toys, Christmas ornaments.
Availability: Fiber products are available at the market and year round by phoning or emailing us. Vegetables are available in season at the market.
About Us: We are a very small 2 person homestead raising specialty vegetables and fiber products from our growing herd of Angora rabbits.
Farming practices and philosophy: We raise our vegetables with organic methods and our rabbits without antibiotics.

Lorraine BakeryLorraine Bakery is a truly Artisan Bakery with all Baked Goods produced by hand with the minimal aid of a few small mixers and machines. We are using European ovens with stone decks and steam injection. Our product is European inspired, since our head baker is from Germany.
The product is versatile and very seasonal. We are using farm fresh produce in our production as much as possible. We are using Vermont butter for most of our production, as well as King Arthur Flour. There are never any additives or preservatives in our products. We specialize in old fashioned crusty breads, baked from water, flour, yeast and salt only. We produce our own laminated doughs, used for Danishes and Croissants, as well as our own brioche doughs. We also carry savory items, like ham & cheese croissants. There are currently over 100 different pastry items and over 30 different breads in our repertoire, which we bake on an alternating schedule. We might choose to adjust product according to weather condition (heat / moisture)

My custom designed pillows are all hand crafted using as many as twelve different fabrics. Most are one of a kind and designed around a central theme depicting wild flowers, animals, French toile, tapestries and mountain scenes. Many of the fabrics I use have been collected from around the world. I also make table cloths with fabrics from the South of France, and table runners made to order. Specific pillow designs to match your colors and themes are made on request.

As representatives of Virginia Tech, is present at the Nelson Farmers Market every Saturday during the market hours. We are there to answer any gardening / growing questions that are pertinent to growing in our area of Central Virginia. We welcome questions and comments from visitors to the market and we will respond to the questions as soon as we can.
We also welcome specimens of plant problems that we will research and attempt to remedy by directing to appropriate resources. The Nelson Master Gardeners are here for problem-solving and many gardening needs. All you have to do is ask!.
